This paper approaches the following five dimensions through leisure sociological perspectives: 1. The changing ”authenticity” pattern of festival activities. 2. The pattern of festival activity styles. 3. The pattern of the experiences of attending festival activities. 4. The cycling of social process and life process. 5. The multifaceted characteristics of festival activities. The research method is a try of ”paradigm shift” concerning festival studies. The result suggests that promotion of festivals should balance the ”authenticity” and the tourism development, so as to attain the comprehensive benefits.
