Ms. Wang and Yuo jointly founded the Sin-Yi SPA in September, 2019, a store that mainly offered the services of facial care and body relaxation. This case describes the two people working together to invest and start a business, utilizing professional skills to stabilize customers, and selling skin care products to sustain income. They have started business for nearly half a year without monthly salary, and they keep revenue and expenses in a common account and only withdraw the exact amount of money when they are in need. With so much effort, is Sin-Yi SPA making money? This teaching case is an operation-level case. Using the information provided by Sin-Yi SPA, the researcher tries to teach students to calculate the gross profit margin of each service item in the beauty and body industry. Besides, the researcher also manages to calculate the required revenue for break-even point regarding hiring an assistant for Sin-Yi. What should they do to make more money? Should Sin-Yi SPA hire an assistant or an experienced technician to settle in?

Sunjuice Co., Ltd. expanded its new factories in Tianjin and Guangdong in 2014 due to the insufficient capacity of its headquarters in Kunshan plant. For these two sites, the company decided to start with plant rental and then to buy the land for building its own factory if given a promising future. The construction of the new plant was suspended for half a year due to the haze control reinforced by the government, resulting in a serious delay in the progress of the project and need to extend the lease. At this time, the landlord requested to raise the monthly rent from RMB120 thousand to RMB300 thousand. Mr. Ming-Hsien Wu, the general manager rejected this rent increase since it was unreasonably large and much higher than the average rent in the nearby area. In the face of the landlord's arrogance, Fresh Juice Industry (Tianjin) had to promptly figure out feasible actions and use the decision-making process as the basis for judging the options. Maisadou Tea and Café was established in 2007, when competition in Taiwan's tea drinks market was fierce and many companies were active in expanding oversea business. The general manager of Maisadou Tea and Café , Chuang-Nan Chang, believed that the overseas business opportunity would come true only when the company was standing firmly in Taiwan. Maisadou Tea and Café now has 42 chain stores mostly in the north and centre of Taiwan. Chuang-Nan Chang is considering how to lead the company to develop the market in Taiwan. This case highlights Maisadou Tea and Café's market strategy, and how the company collaborates with the franchisees with limited resources. Through the case, students will realize the fitness among market strategies, management mechanism of franchisees and market expansion.

For master's and PhD students or teachers of colleges and universities, writing a case is a consolidated learning of theory and practice, and it also meets the needs of the school for journal submission. However, to complete a TSSCI journal-level case writing, it is necessary to have the source of a case story and the lead author with professional case writing training ability, both of which are indispensable. The output of case writing is quite difficult, and how to effectively complete a case with publication quality is a topic worthy of discussion. This case takes the value co-creation of implementing the "Speedboat Project" as the core topic and discusses a knowledge sharing virtual community composed of volunteers. The members can freely participate in this virtual community, practically execute the cases of "matching and coaching activities", and the teachers will match members' resources, divide the members into groups to learn and cross the threshold of case writing, and help solve the problem of members who do not know how to write cases. Through the discussion of this case scenario, students are guided to understand the related theory of virtual community and value co-creation. Stakeholders may participate in the value co-creation platform and understand how virtual community operators responsibly perform platform activities, and members are attracted to join in the community, creating the value of the community together and thus provide specific, constructive suggestions and practical reflections.
