香蕉產業對鄉村大眾運輸業發展的影響—以旗山地區為例

摘要

本研究主要目的在探討香蕉產業對鄉村地區發展的影響。香蕉是臺灣重要經濟作物，自日據時期起，香蕉即為臺灣帶來高經濟利益，帶動鄉村地區的發展，一直至七○年代，香蕉產業開始沒落，鄉村地區因失去重要產業的帶動，而呈現發展遲滯、人口外流的情況。本文以鄉村地區的大眾運輸業的消長來呈現鄉村地區的發展動態，並選取旗山鎮作一個案研究。旗山鎮是一個以香蕉為主要農產品的地區，其社會經濟發展的過程隨香蕉產業而起落。為了瞭解香蕉產業發展對旗山地區整體發展的帶動，並以大眾運輸事業的發展表現此一動力與過程，本文將旗山鎮的發展過程劃分為三個階段：（1）殖民期，（2）新殖民期，（3）轉型期；分析在不同階段中，香蕉產業對大眾運輸業發展的影響。以此香蕉產業與旗山地區及大眾運輸業發展之間的關係，表現出鄉村發展的動態過程，以及鄉村倚賴外力而發展，但未能擁有自發性發展能力的現象。

The objectives of this study are attempting to discover the influence of banana industry on rural development. Banana in an important economic plant in Taiwan, with high economic benefit and improve the development of rural region since 1920's. In 1970's, the banana industry went down by times, without the improvement of banana industry, the development of rural regions development became slowly even stop. We illustrate the rural development by the succession of public transportation, and we choose Chi-shan chen for a case study. Banana is the main product of Chin-shan chen, banana industry made it prosperous and made it silence too. We divided the development of Chin-shan to three stages: (1)colonialism, (2) neo-colonialism, and (3)transformation. Analyzing the influence of banana industry on public transportation in each stage. From this analysis, we can show the relationship between banana industry and the succession of public transportation, even more to get the dynamic of rural development.
