Pesticide Residues in Fresh and Canned Pomefruits

We have analyzed pesticide residues in 309 fresh and canned fruits, grape, strawberry, carambola, wax gambour, purchased from markets by multiresidue method. The results showed that 100 samples of canned fruit were not detected. Two of 50 samples of grape (4%) were detected containing pesticide residues however the concentrations were not in violation. Thirty eight samples of 50 strawberry (76%) were found to contain pesticide residues and 3 of them (6%) were over the allowable level. Eighteen samples of 50 carambola (36%) contained pesticide residues and 17 of 50 samples (4%) were in violation. Twenty-nine of 50 whole wax gambour (58%) were found to contain pesticide residues and 3 of 50 samples (6%) were in violation.
