Survey on Polychlorinated Biphenyl in Fish, Meat, Milk Products and Eggs in 1980

Samples including 94 fish ll3meat 54 milk products and 128 eggs provided by the Health Department of Taiwan Provincial Government from conventional and supermarkets of Taiwan area were analyzed for their polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) residues. According to the food polychlorinated biphenyl limitation criteria of the Department of the Health, quantitation analysis of PCB is based on fat。 Therefore, milk products and meats were first extracted by the hydrochloric acid hydrolytic and Rose-Gottlied method of CNS 5036 respectively. The fat obtained from milk and meat product as well as fish and eggs were subjected to polychlorinated biphenyl analysis. Results showed no samples were violent to the limitation criteria.
