水稻新品種台稉8號之育成

Development of a New Japonica Rice Variety "Taikeng 8"

摘要


台稉8號稉稻新品種,原品系名稱台稉育4268號(台南育238號),為本場針對豐產、良質、抗病蟲、抗倒伏及適應性廣等目標而育成。本品種係民國73年第2期作以株高中等、且米質優良、抗稻熱病及抗倒伏性均強之台南育210號為母本,與高產且穩定、抗稻熱病及抗褐飛蝨均強,再生能力強、米質及食味皆佳之台南育205號(台稉2號)為父本雜交,於民國75年第2期作選出。經各級產量比較試驗、全省區域試驗、耐肥性測驗及各項農藝特性檢定、病蟲害檢定、米質分析及食味檢定等結果顯示:本品種株高中等,抗倒伏性較台南9號、台農67號、台稉2號皆強,且具抗稻熱病強,產量高而穩定、米質優良、食味佳,對褐飛蝨稍具耐性、肥效性佳等特性。生育日數第1期作134天,較台農67號晚3天,第2期作108天,較台農67號早1天。民國81年6月經農林廳召集之作物新品種登記命名審查小組審查通過,准予登記命名繁殖推廣,為適合本省雙期作田栽培之優良稉稻中晚熟品種。

Chiayi Branch Station of the Tainan District Agricultural Improvement Station released a new japonica rice variety ”Taikeng 8” in June, 1992. This variety was originated from the cross between Tainan yuh 210 and Tainan Yuh 205 (Taikeng 2) in 1984. The line with the breeding name of ”Tainan yuh 238” was selected in 1986 from the pedigrees of that cross for further experiment. In 1988, Taikeng yuh 4268 substitued for Tainan yuh 238 as the breeding name because of the co-operation breeding system was carried to practice. The preliminary, advanced and the regional yield trials, as well as other screen testings were conducted between 1987 and 1991. After evaluation by the Committee of Registration for New Rice Varieties of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Forestry, ”Taikeng Yuh 4268” was finally named as ”Taikeng 8” in June, 1992. This medium to late maturing variety is characterized with the merits of stable and high yielding, resistant to rice blast and lodging, positive response to high level of N fertilizer, suitable shattering rate, good grain and eating quality, and is suitable for ratooning rice cultivation.
