A One-Sided Multiple Comparison Procedure in Restricted Normal Models

There is a considerable interest in statistical inference for the one-way analysis of variance model with k quantitative levels. A new simple one-sided multiple comparison procedure is introduced to construct one-sided simultaneous confidence lower bounds for pairwise comparisons. It is a useful technique to categorize treatment levels. The new procedure is more efficient than Hayter's (1990) OSRT except when one compares the means of two adjacent treatment levels. Its efficiency in some occasions may exceed that of the least significant difference procedure.
