Transverse Vibrational and Static Deflectional Problems of Orthotropic Circular Plates with Sectionally Uniform Edge Constraints

In this paper we applied the general solution to the transverse vibrational and static deflectional problems of orthotropic circular plates with arbitrary edge constraints, developed in a previous publication, to cases where the edge constraints are sectionally uniform. The transverse deflection functions for each case of practical interest were deduced from that in its general form. The much simpler stress function and various Galerkin integrals were than extracted from those in their general forms. Important physical parameters which are present in the nonlinear equation of motion for the time function were calculated and presented in the forms of tables and plots. Comparisons of part of the calculated values with existing ones indicate that our method of approximation is a good one.
