Calorimetric studies were made between 2 and 18 Kon twoT.-214 compounds, Gd2CuO4-δ and (Gd1.85Ce0.15)CuO4-δ.Antiferromagnetic orderingof Gd^(3+) prevails in both cases, each with a λ-like heat capacity anomaly at TN = 6.6 K and 5.3 K, respectively. A broad shoulder in heat capacity follows with a peak near 2 K. By integrating the area under experimental data and an appropriate extrapolation to zero temperature in a C/T versus T plot, the magnetic entropy associated with the ordering is indeed close to 2Rln8 or 1.85Rln8 per mole of compound, corresponding to the expected value for Gd^(3+) with J = S = 7/2.
