Design of a Hybrid Superconducting Bearing Operated at 100,000 RPM Between 10 K and 77 K

A hybrid superconducting bearing has been tested at a speed up to 100,000 RPM between 10 K and 77 K. The drag torque of the bearing is found to be independent of the speed within the tested speed range. Drift is not observed as long as the bearing is properly cooled.
