Chinese Abstract

提出了一種用於H.264/AVC編碼的多步驟多分支快速幀內模式選擇算法。該算法首先利用整數DCT域的頻率分佈特點有效減少了候選預測模式的數量,然後使用經過改進的率失真優化模型和H.264原有模型有選擇地處理上述模式,並得到最優模式。通過實驗發現在圖像峰值信噪比(PSNR)和編碼比特率基本不變的情況下,編碼時間降低到了原來的1/6~1/3,從而達到了降低計算複雜度和提高編碼效率的目的。

English Abstract

A multi-step and multi-branch fast intra-prediction mode decision algorithm for H.264/AVC is proposed. The algorithm first uses frequency distributing characteristics of the integer DCT transform domain to filter out several unlikely candidate modes efficiently and then an improved rate-distortion model and the original model in H.264 are applied selectively to the remaining candidate mode to obtain the optimized ones. Experimental results demonstrate that this algorithm reduces the encoding time to 1/6~1/3 of the original mode decision with nearly the same PSNR and encoding bitrate. The aim to reduce the computing complexity and increase the encoding efficiency is achieved.
