The content of the Pediatric Daily Occupation Inventory (PDOI) is infants' and toddlers' daily occupations. This research studied the concurrent validity of PDOI. The criterion was the Chinese Child Development Inventory (CCDI). Five hundred and twelve subjects were 6 71 months' infants and toddlers from 39 private infant-care centers and nurseries in Taipei. The process was that parents filled in CCDI then PDOI during 7~20 days. Relationships between the PDOI and CCDI were analyzed by Spearman rank order correlation coefficient (rs). Independent t test was used to compare the difference of the PDOI percentile between upper1/3 and lowerl/3 of CCDI general development score groups. There were two ways to establish expectancy tables, grouping PDOI total scores and CCDI general developmental raw scores by grouping units of means with one unit interval standard deviation and quartiles, and then we verified whether each concordant was significantly different from each discordant by the gamma values (Y). The result revealed that the concurrent validity of PDOI was significantly high. The PDOI total score was significantly highly related with CCDI raw scores of 7 developmental abilities (r(subscript s)=.661~.883, p<.01). The PDOI percentile of the high general development score group was significantly different from that of the low general development score group (t=4.991, p<.001). The expectancy table of mean with interval of one standard deviation was significantly concordant (Y=.971, p<.001). The expectancy table of a quartile interval was significantly concordant too (Y=.910, p<.001). It is directly to evaluate and understand infants' and toddlers' whole developments by their participation of daily occupations. Besides, PDOI evaluating infants' and toddlers' developments through occupations are full of more living meanings and values.
