Knowledge infrastructure may be one of the key elements for promoting an area's technological progress and total factor productivity. The aim of the paper is to explore the effects of the supply of various kinds of knowledge infrastructure on manufacturing total factor productivity in different areas of Taiwan. The empirical study shows that universities, R&D institutions, and firms' network have had significant effects on technological progress of manufacturing total factor productivity, while producer services and libraries did not have.
