摘要
USB埠幾乎被內建在所有的電腦上，且隨著電腦數量的不斷大幅增加，各式各樣的USB介面的裝置也大量出現。除了量的增加，因應數位資訊的增長，對於USB介面傳輸速度的需求也不斷提升。USB2.0界面更把傳輸速度由前一代的1.5Mb/s及12Mb/s，提升至480Mb/s。為了確保各式各樣的USB裝置在連結到標準USB埠後可以正確無誤的工作，USB-IF組織不僅僅規範了USB裝置的機構規格，同時也對各USB產品功能的相容性認證測試進行了一系列的規範。產品只有在通過了各規定的細項測試後，方能在該產品上註記USB-IF認證標印。

As USB interfaces are pre-installed on almost every PC, there is a growing number of USB devices on the market. At the same time, to meet the need of high transmission speed, USB 2.0 adds a third transfer rate of 480 Mb/s to the 12 Mb/s and 1.5 Mb/s originally defined for USB. Meanwhile, in order to ensure a wide range of USB devices can work correctly, Universal Serial Bus- Implementers Forum (USB-IF) not only defines the product design targets at the level of interfaces and mechanisms, but also complements the compliance test procedures for real products. The USB-IF has instituted a Compliance Program that provides reasonable measures of acceptability. Products that pass this level of acceptability are added to the Integrators List and have the right to license the USB-IF Logo.
