泛自閉症障礙(autism spectrum disorder, ASD)或稱自閉症系列障礙,在精神疾病診斷與統計手冊第四版(The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,簡稱DSM-IV)稱之爲廣泛性發展障礙(pervasive developmental disorders, PDD)。DSM-IV是美國精神醫學會(American Psychiatric Association, APA)所出版,乃現行在美國與其它國家(包括臺灣)最常使用來診斷精神疾病的指導準則(APA, 1994)。近年來,ASD學生除了3大核心障礙外,其動作能力異於一般學生的情況已引起愈來愈多專家學者的討論。由於無論在一般或身心障礙學生的研究中均顯示,身體活動與動作技巧有關,也就是說身體活動量較高者,其動作表現較佳,因此,也許ASD學生動作技巧的表現可以透過提升身體活動而進一步獲得改善。本文主要整理ASD學生動作技巧相關之文獻,討論可能藉由提升ASD學生身體活動增進動作技能的策略,期能提供體育教師與相關專業人員作爲未來實務工作與學術研究的參考。
