本研究以自製之溫度測器架設於臺灣杉樹冠,觀測自1998年10月至1999年4月之每小時均溫變化,同時期觀察鄰近溫度感測器之花芽形態、解剖與乾重之變化。將以上資料以「冷激-熱量和循序之物候模式」推估臺灣杉雌毯花自芽休眠至綻放所需之冷激時數、門檻溫度與累積之熱量和3項參數。由結果得知,雌毬花的冷激門檻溫度推定爲12℃以下,冷激需求至少爲70hr,休眠解除後至綻放須累積之熱量和爲9140度-小時。另預測內在休眠解除日期約在1999年2月5日至7日間。雄毬花以2星期爲取樣間隔,由乾重的變化顯示未具體眠性,也未生産成熟的花粉,原因未明。
We mounted self-made thermo-sensors on both female and male belts of the crown of a Taiwania cryptomerioides tree to monitor and record the mean temperature every hour from October 1998 to April 1999. We also investigated the dry weights and morphological and anatomical changes in strobili from start of bud dormancy through bud bursting. The phonological model of the chilling-heat sum sequential model was used to evaluate 3 parameters of female strobili. Results indicate that the threshold chilling temperature was below 12℃, chilling requirement was fulfilled after at least 70h, and ectodormancy was satisfied by more than 9104 degree-hrs above 12℃. The predicated end date of release of endodormancy was around February 5 to 7, 1999. The increase in dry weight at 2-week intervals showed the continuous growth of male strobili without dormancy. However, it is unclear why the sampled tree produced no pollen to the present.
