Mentality and Architecture: A Review of ＂Venice and the Renaissance＂
摘要
本文評介Tafuri的Venice and the Renaissance一書。除了介紹作者及本書內容以外，本文一方面分析Tafuri針對本書提問的背景，一方面指出本書互相扣合的兩個主旨；明的是社會心態史下的建築史觀，暗的是作者對現代建築的批評，並以此討論本書的寫作取向與貢獻。

This paper reviews Manfredo Tafuri's Venice and the Renaissance. By introducing the author and his other writings, this review analyzes the contexts in which Tafuri addresses his questions. It is argued here that this book contains two interlocked threads. While Tafuri unfolds a history of Venetian architecture within a history of mentality, he implicitly criticizes on the architectural modernity. This review also discusses Tafuri's unique writing approach and academic contributions.
