As there is a growing concern with climate change around the globe, climate security has become a closely-watched nontraditional security issue and is described as ”threat multiplier” by security experts. Over the past century, the increasingly frequent extreme climatic events in Asia-Pacific region have direct impacts on water and food security and other important resources for living, and indirectly contribute to the plight of ”climate refugees”, further deteriorating the already fragile security environment. The crisis caused by climate change not only becomes a source of internal instability, but also lead to tension between countries. Therefore, it has become a critical variable that could affect the geo-political map of Asia-Pacific region.
