A Project to Improve the Home Knowledge about Chemotherapy in Patients with Lung Cancer by Multimedia-mediated Care Guidance

摘要

背景：化學治療副作用大部份於居家環境中發生，提昇病人認知是護理人員護理指導職責之一，可以降低病人暴露危險環境中。目的：提昇化學治療病人認知、滿意度及護理人員護理指導完整率。解決方法：修訂指導內容及規劃教材製成多媒體護理指導工具，於病人入院接受化學治療隨時播放國、臺語影音光碟；修訂製作彩色版手冊，衛教本長寬各為30公分及20公分，字體為40號；製作病人化學治療居家照護能力認知監控表。結果：化學治療認知正確性70.1%提昇至92.8%；滿意度改善前為3.2分，改善後為4.3分；護理指導完整率11.8%提昇至94.1%；達專案目的。結論：本專案實施除了能提昇肺癌病人化學治療認知正確性外，亦能提昇護理照護滿意度及照護品質。

Background: The side effects of chemotherapy often happen in home environment. It is important to improve the knowledge about chemotherapy in patients, so that they could prevent exposing themselves in dangerous environments. Purpose: To improve the knowledge about chemotherapy in patients, satisfaction of patients, and completeness of the care guidance by nursing staff. Methods: We made our guidance content into multimedia teaching materials in Mandarin and Taiwanese. The patients will watch the multimedia teaching materials after their admission for chemotherapy. We also made colorful education manuals in the length of 30 centimeters, the width of 20 centimeters, and the font size of number 40. Then, we made a checklist to evaluate the correctness of the knowledge about chemotherapy in these patients. Results: The percentage of patients with correct knowledge about chemotherapy improved from 70.1% to 92.8%. The satisfaction of patients improved from the score of 3.2 to the score of 4.3. The percentage of a complete care guidance improved from 11.8% to 94.1%. Conclusion: The project not only improved the knowledge about chemotherapy in patients, but also improved the satisfaction of patients and the quality of care guidance by nursing staff.
