高中學生對老人與長照機構態度之研究

摘要

本研究之目的在探討高中學生對老人的態度與入住長照機構之看法與意願。採用橫斷式問卷調查，問卷包括人口學資料、老人態度量表、自己未來入住長照機構看法與意願調查表；以新北市某私立高中學生為研究對象，以分層集束取樣方式進行，收集有效樣本373份。高中學生對老人呈現正向態度（4.06±0.71），最正向為「工作與經濟安全」面向（4.12±0.95），「手足人數」顯著影響對老人的態度（t=2.147，p=.032）；對入住長照機構整體看法為中間偏正向（3.36±0.49），生活無法自理時之意願顯著提升（t=-11.950，p＜.001）。對老人態度與入住機構看法呈現顯著正相關，與未來自己生活無法自理時入住機構意願呈現顯著負相關。本研究提供了年輕世代對老人與長照機構看法的現況，有助於導正社會暨年輕世代對年齡歧視的態度。

The purpose of this study was to explore the attitudes toward the elderly and willingness to use institutional LTC (Long-Term Care) among high school students. Private high school students in New Taipei City were selected for the cross-sectional questionnaire survey. The demographic data, the scale of the attitudes toward the elderly, the opinions and willingness to stay in LTC institutions were included in questionnaires. According to stratified cluster sampling, 373 valid samples were collected. The results showed that the attitudes toward the elderly of the high school students were positive (4.06 ± 0.71). ＂Work and economic safety (4.12 ± 0.95)＂ was the most positive domain. The ＂number of siblings＂ factor significantly affected the attitude towards the elderly (t = 2.147，p = .032). It also showed the mildly positive level about willingness to use institutional LTC (3.36 ± 0.49). The willingness to use institutional LTC showed an unwilling trend. Self-care ability was the significant factor of the willingness to use institutional LTC (t = -11.950，p ＜ .001). The attitudes toward the elderly was significantly positively correlated with views towards institutional LTC and significantly negatively correlated with the willingness to use institutional LTC when one could not take care of him/herself in the future. This study provided information of the attitudes towards the elderly and willingness to use institutional LTC among high school students that help improve ageism in society and young people.
