This study examined trust in sport team in Chinese context. Considering the power distance between coaches and athletes and role differentiation in Chinese context, this paper discussed the contents and proposed propositions of trust in a sport team. Nine propositions were illustrated form the perspectives of trust from top to down (coaches to athletes), trust from down to top (athletes to coaches), and the critical role of trust in team interaction. The nine propositions could be used to explore the mechanisms of trust in a sport team in Chinese context. In conclusion, this paper discussed the propositions different from the study of organizational behavior and made suggestions for future study.
