This study examined the college students' needs of physical education. Analyses were based upon different genders, years in school, majors in different colleges, and participating experience in either varsity sports or sports clubs. A questionnaire of college students' needs of physical education was used for collecting data. A total of 864 students from Van-nung University of Technology participated in this study. Descriptive statistics and t-test were used to analyze the data. The results of the study showed: The needs of developing physical health ranked highest among students. In intramural sports activities, students needed better program planning. In off-campus competition, students showed greater needs in benefits sharing. Further analyses based on different demographic classifications indicated that there was significant difference (p<.05) in students' needs of affective, cognitive and psycho-motor objective learning in physical education. Students in different academic majors and with different participation experiences in varsity teams or sports clubs also showed significant different needs (p<.05) of affective learning, physical education program planning and core value in athletic competition in the intramural domain. Students with different participation experiences in varsity sports and sports clubs demonstrated significant different needs of benefits sharing, student counseling, competition program planning and affective objective learning in the off-campus competition domain.
