運動文學的開路先鋒－劉大任的運動價值觀與實踐

摘要

劉大任(1939-)是文壇健將，亦是台灣運動文學的開路先鋒。本研究採以質性分析，據其文學著作及其他相關文獻為證，探討劉大任的運動價值觀，而予以中立之評價。分析劉大任的運動價值觀有四點，分別為：運動員的根本定義在面對挑戰，運動員價值在於自我實現，運動要超越民族主義，以及運動是人生的寫照。而運動價值觀的實踐，則表現在個人運動精神的實踐、中國人的運動文化之批判，及運動文學創作（尤其是《強悍而美麗》一書）中，得以一窺究竟。總結以上，劉大任的運動價值觀及其實踐上，堪為「運動家」典範，其觀點雖未能全面，但對於傳統文學之突破，帶給運動文學創作者之影響甚鉅，而運動的價值觀點和實踐，則對於體育運動之人文貢獻良多，至此，吾人均予以高度之正面評價。

Daren Liu (1939-), a star in the literary area is a trailblazer of sports literature in Taiwan. This study used the qualitative analysis to compare his literary works with other related literatures to understand his values of sport, presenting a neutral appraisal of his views. There are four propositions in Liu's sports values. First, the definition of an athlete is to face the challenge. Second, the value of an athlete lies mainly in self-achievement. Third, the athletics needs to surmount nationalism. And finally, sport is a portrayal of one's life. Regarding the practices, we can catch the outcome from the practice of individual athletic spirit, the comments about Chinese's sports culture, and the sports literary works (especially from the book Intrepid but Beautiful). In conclusion, both the views of Daren Liu's sports values and his practice are typical model of ”athletes”. Although he is not comprehensive in sports values, he has a great influence to many sports literary creators, regarding having made a breakthrough of traditional literature. The views and practices of his sports values also make great contributions to humanities. Therefore, researchers give highly and positively regarded in this study.
