How did the miscellaneous discourses about law change during the Ming-Qing dynasties? This article delves into Ming-Qing intellectual trends aimed at articulating the Confucian canons with legal knowledge. Focusing on the constitution of the legal knowledge in ”Daxu Yanyibu” (《大學衍義補》) and ”Xianxing Jinggie” (《祥刑經解》), which both highlighted the legal knowledge that might benefit the practice of the Confucian Canons, and vice versa, this study sheds light on the interactions between Confucians and legal experts in late imperial China.
