Chinese Abstract

Objective To study effects of ECMO on plasma cytokines in dogs with acute lung injury. Methods Ten pentobarbitalanesthetized dogs were randomly divided into a control (mechanical ventilation, MV) group (a=5) and MV+ECMO group (n=5). Acute lung injury model induced by canine oleic acid was set up through intravenously injection of oleic acid, and then performed MV or MV+ECMO for 240min. Plasma cytokines (IL-6, IL-8, IL-b and IL-12) were detected by EUSA. Results ECMO increased the oxygenation (P<0.05), but there were no changes in the pressure of the pulmonary artery. There was noticeable increase in plasma IL-6, IL-8 and IL-12 level (P<0.05), except IL-10. Conclusion ECMO increases the oxygention of dogs with acute lung injury, and cannot improve the pressure of the pulmonary artery. ECMO increases the cytokines level in plasma.
