Effects of Citicoline, Orotic Acid and CoQ10 on Learning Memory Ability and Antioxidative Status in Mice

摘要

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Citicoline, Orotic acid and CoQ10 on learning memory ability and antioxidative status in mice. Two month-old female pregnancy ICR mice were divided into four groups: casein diet group (the control group), casein diet supplemented with 0.5% Citicoline, 0.5% Orotic acid or 0.05% CoQ10, not until they ablactated, keep finding mice to 8 week-old Body weight, food intake, open field activity test, single-trial passive avoidance test, shuttle avoidance test were performed during the study The activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), Gtathione peroxidase (GSH Px) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in the liver were analyzed after sacrificed. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the body weight, food intake were no significantly among four groups. In open field activity test, the locomotion of control and experimental groups were no significant differences. In learning and memory, control group had significant lower memory ability than experimental groups of test through single-trial passive avoidance test (p<0.05). In active shuttle avoidance test, control group had significant lower in learning and memory lability than experimental groups (p<0.05). The SOD, GPx activity of liver experimental groups were significant higher than control group (p < 0.05). The MDA concentrations of liver in experimental groups were significant lower than control group (p<0.05). In summary, the supplement of Citicoline, Orotic acid and CoQ10 could improve the development of brain, learning memory ability and antioxidative status in ICR mice.
