| English Abstract |
This paper surveys the potential design factors or criteria, which take all major stages of a product life cycle into consideration and consider the environmental and ecological impacts, as the evaluation base for the greener product. Using the design guidelines from Design for X (DFX) initiatives, each design factor or criterion of different product life-cycle stages is summarized to form a green design evaluation structure. This evaluation structure can provide product planners, designers or engineers the general guidelines to assess the design alternatives that would achieve the environmentally sound design in the earlier stages of the product design and development. |
