The purpose of this study was to understand those PE teachers in Taipei elementary schools about the situation of physical education risk measurement. They were asked to evaluate the frequency and the damage severity of all kinds of sport categories, items, equipment, and time period and then got the risk values. And based on these data, we offered the school authority and concerned staff how to manage the PE risk according its high-low risk order. This study was designed to investigate the scores possessed by the elementary teachers on the questionnaire. Forty five teachers, including 39 males and 6 females at elementary schools in Taipei City were randomly drawn as subjects for this study. The questionnaire were self-developed and adopted to collect the related data. All data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the t-test. Findings from this study were profound: 1. As for the sport category, the highest risk was the gymnastics, and the following sequences were ball games, track and field, swimming, folkways of physical education, martial art and dance. 2. As for the sport item, those with high risks were baseball, box horse, handball, horizontal bar, high jump, shot, basketball, football and dodge ball. 3. As for the playing equipment, swing took the highest risk, and the following were slide, climb rack, pole-climbing and seesaw. 4. As for the sport period, the highest risk was interschool competition, next were interclass competition, team training, sport club and physical education. 5. As for the time of risks happen, the highest one was between classes and in classes was the second. 6. The conclusion between different sport categories, playing equipment, sport period, and risk measurement was the same from different PE teaching years and whether those were graduated from PE department.
