A CHAOS Maps Based Method using Encryption Scheme for Securing DICOM Images: A Comparative Analysis

For the safe communication of medical images, various encryption schemes on DICOM images had been proposed. Using a novel encryption scheme with a combination of chaotic maps. For effective encryption, the Chao-cryptic system consists of the idea of crossover and mutation units to confuse and diffuse the DICOM image pixels. This crossover and mutation units are different methods like the crossover unit modify the image pixels in row-wise and column-wise according to the key which is generated by the system. In the mutation unit, the crossover unit is decomposed into two images and then mutated with the XOR operation from the system. In this Chao-cryptic scheme, it consists of various security analyses like key-space, key sensitivity, intentional cropping attack, statistical, differential, and chosen plain text attack and certify the sternness in the system. The combination of DICOM and cryptosystem can result the secure and safe transmission of medical images.
