Soon after the Ministry of Education announced a series of policies for promoting marine education, the marine related curriculum has become an integral part in formal education. In the wake of promoting marine education, it is imperative to design appropriate contents in the curriculum and to implement instructions in both elementary and secondary schools. This article is to share the past experiences of marine education programs which were drawn from National Museum of Marine Science & Technology and other museums. Based on these prior working experiences, we intend to provide a broad view of museum's role in promoting marine education in elementary and secondary schools and to make a few observations and recommendations.
