析論布袋戲觀眾對五洲園三代劇作的語言態度

An Analysis of Audiences' Language Attitudes towards Taiwanese Hand Puppet Theater "Wu Zhou Yuan"

摘要


本文在先前語言風格的分析基礎之上,進一步從布袋戲觀眾的角度切入探究:觀眾在觀賞布袋戲時所形成的語言態度發生什麼樣的變遷。我們首先以每10年為一年齡層,於各年齡層訪談1-2位長期觀眾,根據質性訪談結果修訂量化問卷,再於北中南三區蒐集各年齡層的回應資料,以兼具量化數據與質性訪談的研究方法來客觀呈現觀眾之語言態度的轉變。本文調查結果顯示:第一代傳統布袋戲的表演口語已無法獲得觀眾青睞;老高中年層(41歲以上)觀眾給予第二代黃俊雄的表演語言較高評分,壯青少年層(40歲以下)觀眾則給予第三代黃文擇較高評分;絕大多數觀眾都察覺現代布袋戲語言明顯有異於日常台語,且多數同意其有愈益華語化的趨向;對於此種布袋戲語言,觀眾雖同意其失去口語活力,但也認為不影響觀賞效果,更多認為乃營造出創新語言特色。

Based on previous analysis of language styles of Taiwanese Hand Puppet theaters (hereafter HPT), this article focuses on the changes of language attitudes of audiences. We designed a questionnaire for the HPT audience community and interviewed 1-2 long term audiences in each age group at 10 year intervals. Based on the qualitative interview results, we revised the questionnaire and again collected response data from all age groups in the northern, central and southern areas of Taiwan. The changes of the HPT audiences' language attitudes would be objectively showed in terms of quantitative data and qualitative interviews.
