The government has actively promoting landscape greening for parks, open spaces, roofs, even the building walls in recent years. With the growing greenery development, the green looking ratio and energy efficiency are also improving. Vertical greening has become architectural famous doctrine. Through case studies and literature review on vertical greening development, this paper analyzes the current incentive system and induces relevant factors of vertical greening applications. Besides, this study aims to construct the assessable evaluating system of vertical greening and effect on the existing buildings via Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM). Using the weight value provided by the expert questionnaire survey through the Analytical Hierarchy Process, this paper tends to compile statistics and measure the relative weights and priority order from the assessment standard of vertical greening practice in the existing buildings in Taiwan. The conclusion of this study shows that, upon the third level of assessment criteria, the first factor is “Installation cost” (weight value is 0.142); the second factor is “Insulation and energy saving” (weight value is 0.127); the third factor is “Irrigation systems” (weight value is 0.100); the fourth factor is “Planting maintenance” (weight value is 0.081); the fifth factor is “microclimate regulation” (weight value is 0.071). This research could provide references and suggestions for the measurement of vertical greening and weight value distribution to enhance the development of vertical greening, lower the risk assessment and achieve the idea of sustainable management.
