A large percentage of companies have branches and factories located at more than one places. These different offices may even have their own database systems. Thus how to consolidate data and replicate all data back to the headquarters become an important issue. In this thesis, we discuss how we can use Microsoft SQL Server 2008’s new feature Change Data Capture to perform data consolidation. As compared to other methods such as SQL Server Replication, Change Data Capture not only can provide similar function but also can be. Customized to carry out other missions. Two well known examples are handling data conflict and providing version history of data.
