產業邁入成熟期前中型企業的預應策略---以印刷電路板產業為例

摘要


梭羅(民93 )提到在槓鈴經濟中,公司無論大小全部都往兩邊靠,沒有所謂的中間部分。無論什麼企業,將只會面對兩種策略選擇:(1)成為主宰全球的大企業,(2)成為高度專業及靈活的小公司,中型企業絕對會消失。 但是對照目前印刷電路板產業環境如,民國96 年審視在民國85 年印刷電路板排名統計前22 名的企業,有許多大型印刷電路板廠已歇業,反而不被預期存在的中型印刷電路板廠廠商有些卻依然健在,並且這些中型電路板廠亦未成為大型電路板廠,對於中型企業如何在成熟期激烈的產業競爭環境下仍然維持中型企業的規模且營運良好,在成長期規劃執行了哪些策略是本研究欲探討的內容。 基於此目的,本研究需探討下述之問題: 一、印刷電路板產業邁入成熟期前,中型企業衡量當時的產業環境與公司既有的經營型態,擬訂了哪些預應策略?為什麼? 二、企業所制定的預應策略,在印刷電路板產業邁入成熟期後如何展現策略效應? 中型企業面對大型企業處於相對弱勢的情勢下唯有運用策略方可在產業環境中取得一席之地,甚至扭轉劣勢可以與大型企業抗衡。期望藉由本論文對於一般中型企業尚處於成長期或即將進入成熟期的產業,藉由此研究論文的結果可提供該產業在面對未來的狀況適用的經營策略規劃與建議模式。

Professor Lester Throw(2004) in his theory of dumb-bell economy argued acompany is going to either grow to a global scale and become the leader in its industry or shrink to a small one with high flexibility and responsiveness to market. The medium-sized enterprises won’t last long and will be finally disappeared.However, the PCB (Printed Circle Board) companies in Taiwan didn’t followProfessor Throw’s prediction. Reviewing the top 22 Taiwanese PCB companies in theindustry 10 years ago(1996-2007), we found some of the companies ranked in the top then are closed today, but some medium-sized PCB companies are still keeping its scale as it was and operating well. This study is focusing on those medium-sized companies to see what proactive strategies those companies adopted and that maintained its competence in the industry. This study is also further investigating the two areas –(1) what are the background reasons those medium-sized companies adopted their proactive strategies?(2) what are the effects of the proactive strategies the companies adopted after theindustry became more mature? The only way the medium-sized enterprises can survive in the competitive environment is to adopting the effective strategy to sharpen their competitiveness. This study is trying to find out the useful operational strategies for the medium-sized enterprises in the PCB industry. And those strategies could be the references or proposals for all medium-sized companies in the growing industries.
