專科學生對科學的態度、生物學科自我效能與其營養健康信念表徵、學業成就之關係研究

摘要


摘 要 本研究旨在探討技職教育體系的專科學生對科學的態度、生物學科自我效能與營養健康表徵及學業成就相互之間的關係。修訂「技專學生對科學的態度量表」(α=.75)、「生物學科自我效能問卷」(α=.97)及自行設計發展的「日常生活中的東西方營養健康表徵問卷」(α=.83)為研究工具,並以台灣南部某專科學校222位學生為研究對象,主要研究發現如后: (一)對科學的態度及其與其他變項的關係: 1.專科學生在其對科學的態度的平均值為2.68,標準差為0.39,平均 值與期望值(2.5)達顯著差異(t=8.14,p<0.001),顯示整體平均高於 期望值。 2.不同的「對科學的態度」傾向的學生,其生物學科自我效能達顯著差 異(F2,219=20.63,P<0.001);其生物學成績亦達顯著差異 (F2,219=3.44,P<0.05);且其學業成績達顯著差異(F2,219=4.232, P<0.05)。 3.學生對科學的態度與生物學科自我效能呈現顯著正相關r=.40 (p<0.01);與學業成績亦呈現顯著正相關r>.13(p<0.05)。 (二)生物學科自我效能及其與其他變項的關係: 1.生物學科自我效能的平均數為53.39,標準差為12.40,平均值與期 望值(55)達顯著差異(t=-1.934,p<0.05),顯示整體平均低於期望 值。 2.不同的高、中、低自我效能的學生,其對科學的態(F2,218=11.903, p<0.001)、生物學成績(F2,93=4.306,p<0.05)達顯著差異,其學 業成績(F2,216=6.401,p<0.01;F2,216=6.635,p<0.01)亦達顯著 差異。 3.生物學科自我效能與學業成績呈現顯著正相關r >.23 (p<0.01)。 (三)東西方營養健康表徵及其與其他變項的關係: 1.東西方營養健康表徵的平均值為1.65,並未出現一味偏向東方或西方 的營養健康表徵,顯示專科學生對東方或西方的營養健康信念表徵出 現了「兩種準則」之現象。 2.不同的對科學的態度傾向之學生,其東西方營養健康表徵(F2,219= 0.73,p=.482>0.05)無顯著差異;不同高、中、低自我效能的學生, 其東西方營養健康表徵(F2,219=1.51,p=.222>0.05)亦無顯著差異。 結果顯示呈現出有的學生認同東方營養健康表徵,有的學生認同西方 營養健康表徵的現象。 3.學生其對科學的態度與東西方營養健康表徵呈現低度負相關r=0.007 (p>0.05);學生其生物學科自我效能與東西方營養健康表徵亦呈現低 度負相關r =-0.066 (p>0.05)。 本研究並根據上述研究結果,提出對科學課程之建議、對科學教學之 建議、對後續研究之建議等加以討論。 關鍵詞:對科學的態度、自我效能、社會表徵、生活世界、營養健康信念 、生物學、營養學

An exploratory study of the relationship between the attitude toward science, self-efficacy in life-science and representation of nutrition-health beliefs / academic achievement of students at institute of technology Michael Te-fa Hsu Abstract The purposes of this study are to explore the relationship between the attitude toward science, self-efficacy in life-science and the representation of the East- and West-oriented nutrition-health beliefs, the academic achievement of students at the institute of technology. This study employed a revised "questionnaire of the attitude toward science of students of institute of technology"(α=.75),"questionnaire of self-efficacy in life-science"(α=.97), and also a "questionnaire of the representation of the East- and West-oriented nutrition-health beliefs in the daily life" (α=.83) designed and developed by the writer. The subjects answering these questionnaires were 222 students at institute of technology located at south of Taiwan. The important findings of this study are summarized as follows: A. The relationship between the attitude toward science and the other variables: 1. The average value of the attitude toward science was 2.68 and the standard deviation was 0.39. There was a significant difference (t=8.14, p<0.001) between the average and expected value (2.5). This difference means that the total average was higher than the expected value. 2. The different trend of the attitude toward science showed a significant difference in the self- efficacy in life-science (F2, 219=20.63, p<0.001), the score of the Biology showed a significant difference (F2, 219=3.44, p<0.05), and in addition, the semester academic achievement, (F2, 219=4.232, p<0.05). 3. The relationship between the attitude toward science of students and self-efficacy in life-science revealed a positive correlation r =.40 (p<0.01). The semester academic achievement also revealed a significantly positive correlation r >.13 (p<0.05). B. The relationship between the self-efficacy in life-science and the other variables: 1. The average value of the self-efficacy in life-science was 53.39 and the standard deviation was 12.40. There was a significant difference (t= -1.934, p<0.05) between the average value and expected value(55). Therefore this indicated that the total average was lower than the expected value. 2. Different grades of the self-efficacy of students (high, middle, low) showed a significant difference in attitude toward science(F2, 218=11.903, p<0.001), score of the Biology (F2, 93=4.306, p<0.05) and semester academic achievement, (F2, 216=6.401, p<0.01;F2, 216=6.635, p<0.01). 3. Both self-efficacy in life-science and total semester academic achievement indicated a significantly positive correlation r >.23 (p<0.01). C. The relationship between the representation of the East- and West-oriented nutrition-health beliefs and the other variables: 1. The average value of the representation of the East- and West-oriented nutrition-health beliefs was 1.65, did not appear an obvious declination to any side. It revealed that students of at institute of technology had two standards of the representation of nutrition-health beliefs toward both in the East- and West-oriented representation. 2. The different trend of the attitude toward science did not show significant differences in the representation of the East- and West-oriented nutrition-health beliefs. Different grades of the self- efficacy did not show a significant difference in the representation of the East- and West-oriented nutrition-health beliefs. It characterized that there was phenomenon which students identified East-oriented nutrition-health beliefs in some items, and also identified West-oriented nutrition-health beliefs in some items. 3.The relationship between the attitude toward science and the representation of the East- and West- oriented nutrition-health beliefs revealed a low negative correlation r = -0.007 (p>0.05). Both self- efficacy in life-science and the representation of the East- and West-oriented nutrition-health beliefs revealed a low negative correlation r = -0.066(p>0.05). Finally, according to the findings of this study, I hereby offer discussion and the suggestion of science curriculum, science teaching and further research. ________________ Key Words: Attitude toward science, self-efficacy, social representation, life world, nutrition-health beliefs Biology and Ntrition
