本研究應用於車牌辨識真偽,使用謝基生教授專利可見光無法穿透但紅外光可穿透塑膠板製作成可用紅外光偵測真偽之車牌。 此車牌為用肉眼(可見光)無法穿透,外觀看起來為一般黑色但透過紅外光攝影機看黑色塑膠板就變成透明無色,因此便可看見設置於黑色塑膠板下之防偽記號和文字,搭配現各路口都有的車牌監視器即可辨識用假車牌做壞事之車輛。
