The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of various processing parameters (for example: machining time, rotation speed of the electrode and voltage supply) on the number of threads and thread pitch of the produced thread-like microelectrode tools. A high-speed camera is used to observe the change of flow field around the electrode tool such that the causes of each parameter on the thread produced can be clearly explained. Finally, a well-fabricated thread-like microelectrode with the most number of screw threads and averaged pitch is used to do the drilling process to investigate whether threads will usual in.
