通霄地區台灣鼬貛(Melogale moschata subaurantiaca)之活動範圍、活動模式與棲地利用

摘要


台灣鼬貛(Melogale moschata subaurantiaca)在台灣的主要分布可從平地至海拔2000公尺的山區,野外生態資料較為匱乏。本研究從2007年9月至2008年11月於苗栗縣通霄鎮淺山地區對6隻(3雄3雌)鼬貛進行無線電追蹤,探討鼬貛的活動範圍、活動模式、棲地利用及個體間的關係。研究結果顯示,雄性活動範圍大於雌性,以最小凸多邊形法計算,鼬貛的平均活動範圍為6.66±6.45(n=6)公頃,雌性平均活動範圍2.08±0.66公頃(n=3),雄性11.25±6.35公頃(n=3);以95% Fixed Kernel計算,鼬貛的平均活動範圍為7.09±4.33公頃(n=6),雌性平均活動範圍3.45±1.84公頃(n=3),雄性10.69±2.17公頃(n=3)。 以50% Fixed Kernel計算,個體之間核心範圍的重疊度差異大,雌雄間的重疊率為2-100%、雌性間的重疊率為0-77%,雄性間的重疊率為10-24%。鼬貛為夜行性動物,且在19點和凌晨4點的活動程度最高。鼬貛在夜間活動時,其棲地使用量與棲地可得性沒有差異,但在日間休息點偏好使用次生林。鼬貛的活動範圍重疊度高,雌性個體在同夜晚出現在相同區域,及個體在相同/不同時期使用相同的休息區,顯示本樣區的鼬貛不會迴避彼此。

Formosan ferret badger (Melogale moschata subaurantiaca) can be found in different habitats from sea level to 2,000 m in Taiwan, but little is known for their ecology. This study radio-tracked 6 (3 females and 3 males) individuals in lowland suburban area in Tongsiao, Miaoli, from Sept. 2007 to Nov. 2008 for an understanding of their home range, activity pattern, habitat selection and relationships among individuals. Results showed that the home range of the male ferret badger is larger than female. Average MCP home range size was 6.66±6.45 hectares for both sexes, while it was 2.08±0.66 hectares for females and 11.25±6.35 hectares for males. The average 95% Fixed Kernel home range size was 7.09±4.33 hectares for both sexes: 3.45±1.84 hectares for females and 10.69±2.17 hectares for males. Overlaps between core areas (50% Fiexed Kernel) of different individuals were varied greatly, which were 2-100% overlap between the two sexes, 0-77% among females, and 10-24% among males. Ferret badger is nocturnal species, with higher activity levels in dusk and dawn. They showed no habitat preference when they were active in the evening, but prefer resting in secondary forest during daytime. Ferret badgers apparently did not try to avoid each other; therefore, they are most likely a semi-social or social species.
