Powered by the proliferation of smart phones in mobile commerce, mobile users now may purchase and consume digital contents including music, eBooks, movies, and so on anytime anywhere. These digital contents, when stored on cloud computing platforms, can be easily synchronized across devices for flexible access of mobile commerce. This thesis studies transactions and management of digital contents through mobile clouds. First, we present a sharing mechanism of digital music over cloud space. The portability is increased without sacrificing rights of both the owners and the creators. The purchasing and delivery of digital music is more convenient because potential threats to cloud space are reduced by the secured transactions with encryption technologies. Second, we integrate diverse digital contents and design a distribution mechanism to enhance the security of the cloud space. Certificates are required to login and access the cloud space for stronger security. Third, we propose a service of cloud bookshelves to integrate ebooks purchased from different sources so that readers are free from installations of various reading software. The functionality of the mobile bookshelf enables readers to read and share ebooks across different platforms. The mobile bookshelf is designed as a transaction center for the distributed units. The transaction process is certified by both ticket purchasing and certificate delivery. Secure mechanisms including symmetric encryption, asymmetric encryption, and one-way hash function are used in the proposed protocols. Both personal data and transaction details during delivery over the cloud are secured. Furthermore, the cloud space is more secure by identity authentications with certificates.
