精練生產、敏捷製造與大量客製化的做法與其對製造績效的影響

THE STUDY ON THE PRACTICES OF LEAN PRODUCTION, AGILE MANUFACTURING, AND MASS CUSTOMIZATION AND THEIR IMPACTS ON MANUFACTURING PERFORMANCE

摘要


台灣製造業一向是以規模經濟、大量生產的方式來降低成本;然而,為了因應企業全球化的競爭環境,企業不但要滿足顧客多樣化的需求,也要兼顧成本與迅速回應市場的競爭能力,並以達成成本、品質、時間與彈性間的最佳製造績效。自從學者提出精練生產、敏捷製造與大量客製化的理念作為製造業因應市場快速變遷之道,其中大多屬概念上的論述,較少有實務上做法方面的研究。 本研究首先經由文獻探討精練生產、敏捷製造與大量客製化實務上的做法;然而,從文獻上得知精練生產、敏捷製造與大量客製化彼此間存在著共同的實務做法,並非是互斥的。因此,實證資料利用探索性因素分析焠取出精練生產、敏捷製造、大量客製化與三者間共同做法的四項因素,瞭解四項因素在實務上所包含的做法變數。其後,再利用結構方程模式分析探討精練生產做法、敏捷製造做法與大量客製化做法各自對製造績效的影響。研究對象是針對2006年天下雜誌公佈的台灣製造業1,000大排名,進行普查,利用郵寄問卷調查方式蒐集資料。實證資料先以SPSS 12.0統計軟體進行探索性因素分析,焠取出精練生產、敏捷製造、大量客製化與三者間共同做法的四項因素,將共同做法的指標變數分別加入精練生產、敏捷製造、大量客製化三個構念,並採用結構方程模式分析進行精練生產做法、敏捷製造做法與大量客製化做法個別對成本、品質、時間與彈性之製造績效的影響。 實證分析結果1.支持研究假設:精練生產做法對製造績效有正向的影響,經由t檢定,精練生產做法對成本、時間與彈性有正向的影響;不過,統計分析結果卻發現精練生產做法對品質並未顯著影響。2.支持研究假設:敏捷製造做法對製造績效有正向的影響,經由t檢定,敏捷製造做法對成本、品質、時間與彈性均有正向的影響。3.支持研究假設:大量客製化做法對製造績效有正向的影響,經由t檢定,大量客製化做法對成本、品質、時間與彈性均有正向的影響。最後,根據研究結果,就精練生產、敏捷製造與大量客製化此三項生產理念的實務做法,對台灣製造業提出有助於提昇製造績效的建議。

Taiwanese manufacturing firms were always reducing cost by economies of scale and mass production in the past. However, the firms deal with the business competitive environments of globalization nowadays. In order to achieve the goals of manufacturing performance in terms of cost, quality, time, and flexibility, firms needs to satisfy customer demands of variety and customization, but also needs to meet the competitive capability of both cost and quick response to the market. Although scholars have proposed the terms such as lean production, agile manufacturing, and mass customization, they almost subject to the conceptual level but few on empirical research. First of all, this study explores that the practices of lean production, agile manufacturing, and mass customization by literature review; however, the practices for lean production, agile manufacturing, and mass customization are not mutually exclusive. Therefore, this study draws the specific practices for these three production philosophy and their common practices by using exploratory factor analysis. Eventually, this study analyzes the impacts of the practices of lean production, agile manufacturing, and mass customization on manufacturing performance by using structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis separately. The research subjects of this study are the top 1,000 manufacturing firms in Taiwan that were reported by Common Wealth in 2006. A survey for these 1,000 manufacturing firms was conducted by using a mail questionnaire. The empirical data has been run exploratory factor analysis using SPSS 12.0 statistical software. Then, the impacts of the practices of lean production, agile manufacturing, and mass customization on manufacturing performance are analyzed by using structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis, respectively. The empirical results support all research hypotheses. 1. Hypothesis Ha is supported: Lean production practices have a positive impact on manufacturing performance. The impacts of lean production’s practices on manufacturing performance positively in terms of cost, time, and flexibility. Otherwise, the statistical result is found that lean production practices are not significant in case of quality. 2. Hypothesis Hb is supported: Agile manufacturing practices have a positive impact on manufacturing performance. The impacts of agile manufacturing’s practices on manufacturing performance positively in terms of cost, quality, time, and flexibility. 3. Hypothesis Hc is supported: Mass customization practices have a positive impact on manufacturing performance. The impacts of mass customization’s practices on manufacturing performance positively in terms of cost, quality, time, and flexibility. Finally, this study provides some suggestions in terms of these three production concepts for manufacturing firms to improve their manufacturing performance based on the research results.
