角錐是幾何造形,但與其他的幾何形相比,角錐似乎相對較少被設計師運用於產品設計上。本研究透過文獻探討,並分析現有的角錐相關產品及作品,提出以角錐元素為主的產品設計,並製成實體作品具以展現。創作過程中,首先了解角錐在學術及幾何形的定義,以確定其構成元素,接續研究目前和角錐相關之物件、產品或創作,如自然礦石、建築以及產品設計,從中歸納角錐構成元素可操作及運用的原則,建構後續產品設計的方針,最後提出三款角錐元素造形的實體作品,分別為(一)聚光:桌燈設計,該創作將光線的照射於角錐構成上使其產生具有迷人層次的光影;(二)散光:手電筒設計,主要呈現角錐造形的純粹設計,簡化元素,保留最原始的角錐意象;(三)時錐:時鐘設計,使原本平面化的時鐘樣態,因導入角錐三維的立體構成,表現出新穎的觀看角度,提供使用者不一樣的互動體驗。本文之創作過程,將角錐與現代產品設計進行連結,展現合宜的角錐特質生活產品,透過這種嘗試與實作展現,使設計創作產生更多的新穎性與美感。

English Abstract

The pyramid is a geometrical entity. However, compared to other geometries, it seems to be applied seldom to the product design by designers. This study reviews the literature, analyzes the existing pyramid-related products and works, and then proposes the pyramid-based product designs with real models for demonstration. Firstly, the pyramid definitions are reviewed academically and geometrically. Some constituent elements are determined. Following, the study searches current objects and products related to the pyramid, such as natural ore, constructions, and product designs, to analyze and summarize the pyramid-based principles and guidelines for shape development. There are three real pyramid-based designs proposed. The first is Spotlight, a table lamp design. This creation applied light into pyramid surface to address charming levels of light and shadow. The second is Diffusion Light, a torch design. It mainly expresses the pure elements derived from the pyramid. It simplifies the elements and focuses on original images of the pyramid. The third is Pyramid Clock, a clock design. It transforms the general flat-formed clocks into a three dimensional entity. The innovative design performs novelty perspectives and suggests users with new interactive experiences. The abovementioned process and results effectively link the pyramid elements and modern product designs. The guidelines and implementations could add novelty and aesthetics to the designs.
