After intraoral tumor ablation surgery, a local flap like tongue flap is usually used to repair the soft tissue defect overlying the alveolar ridge. However, in orderto fully cover the exposed bony ridge with such local flap, it usually results in elevating mouth floor and shallow vestibule happened. This condition will hinder the following prosthetic rehabilitation. This kind of patients, usually, needs a second stage surgery to restore their alveolar height .Here we present a case, suffered from tongue cancer and received tumor excision and tongue flap repair, sought for denture rehabilitation one year after the operations due to limited tongue movement and inadequate vestibule depth. Vestibuloplasty with palatal mucosa graft has been utilized in this case. His tongue was freed and the ridge height was regained by this method. After that, the patient got his esthetics and oral function recovered.
