Research on gay adolescents’ identification is scarce in current literature. This articles is targeting gay adolescents ranging from 17- to 20-year-olds and investigating their identification formation through semi-interview. The results show that the general processes these participants have been experiencing are “awareness and doubt”, “exploration and comparison”, and “assertion and identification”. The most formidable obstacle during the processes is from the society’s intolerance and even hostility towards this population. The financial and emotional dependence on the family as well as the predictable pressure and isolation form relatives are the major concerns regarding “coming-out” issue. However, the identification development differs from case to case.
