The Effect of Residual Unbalance on the Spectra of Meshing Gears

並列摘要

The main aim of this paper is to consider the effects of residual unbalance on the spectra of a meshing spur gear pair. Spectra, including those of transmitted torque and exclusive force between an engaging gearset, are examined. To study the effect of residual unbalance on the spectra, a gear dynamic model is proposed. Due to the little influence of friction force on the dynamic responses, it is neglected in this mathematical model for gear dynamics. Besides, the mesh stiffness is assumed to be constant in two periods. One is the single-tooth-pair contact period from IPC (the initial contact point) to LPSTC (the lowest point of single tooth contact). The other is the double-tooth-pair contact period from LPSTC to HPSTC (the highest point of single tooth contact). With the proposed model and the cyclic character of an engaging gear pair, the analytic solutions for transmitted torque and exclusive force can be solved. Using Fourier series expansion theorem, the spectra for both dynamic responses are then derived. When considering the existence of residual unbalance, both spectra are solved and compared to show the influence of residual balance on a running gear pair.
