With Bode integral constraints, spillover will occur if the performance sensors and measurement sensors are collocated or if the control speakers and the noise speakers are collocated. The goal of this paper is to design a multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) controller for a spatially feedforward structure to a three-dimensional enclosure. The plant model is constructed by using frequency domain state-space system identification. The linear-quadratic-gaussian (LQG) algorithm is used for controller design. Experiments are carried out for the internal field of an automobile. A broad-band white noise and a fixed speed engine noise ore chosen as the primary noise respectively. The results indicate that the proposed controller yields a broadband attenuation of the white noise. The fixed speed engine noise is also attenuated when we use an assumed model of the noise structure.
