微距攝影測量應用於數位典藏之研究-以活版鉛字為例

Macro Photogrammetry for Digital Archives - A Case Study of Lead Type Models in Letterpress

摘要


本研究針對活版鉛字特性研擬相關適當數化方法,希望有別於一般作業模式,克服微型藝術物件數位典藏之困難,故採用以影像為基礎,且經過量測及數值計算方式,將其輪廓型體與表面色澤紋理等資訊一併數化紀錄,期能讓該印刷文物之數位典藏保有更多形體上與意念上之資訊及價值。為達上述目的,採用攝影測量相關技術,將該印刷文物數位化,主要是倚重該技術可同時儲存影像資訊及空間幾何參數,並且將微距攝影相關技術引入,克服極小型物件觀察與量測不易之難題,影像經微距拍攝放大後,導入空間坐標概念,以攝影測量之方式,獲得相對物空間坐標,進而建置模型,紀錄該物件之型體與尺寸。本研究以印刷用鉛活字為研究對象,其體型微小且背後附有印刷科技演進的歷史與漢字藝術的美感,經本次研究證實本法確實可行,有相機及電腦便可作業,無需昂貴且複雜之儀器設備,便可完成實體之數位化,可為類似極小型物體數位化參考運用。

In this study it is assumed that printing artifacts are important to our country's cultural heritage assets with tremendous and precious historical and artistic values. In recent years, as digital archives are gradually evaluated as great importance it is hoped that geospatial science and technology can be applied to cultural entity data in printing technology in order to preserve such important cultural heritage as digital archives. In review of the characteristics of the printing artifacts, which is also the artistic beauty of life products we plan to develop a suitable image-based methodology to digitize the small collections of digital art items through measurement and numerical calculation. It is expected that the surface texture information of the artifacts can be recorded thoroughly for digital archives of map making and printing. For the above purposes we use photogrammetry-related technology, i.e. macro photography, to deal with printing artifacts digitally. Images enlarged and spatial geometry can be obtained altogether to overcome difficulties about the general observations of very small objects and their measurements. After image matching, parameters (e.g. shape and size) for operation models can be acquired and combined to the relative position by importing spatial coordinates and precise measurements of conjugate points into collinear equation.Lead type models in Letterpress are used to validate feasibility and affordability of macro photogrammetry using a camera and a personal computer. From the results it is sure that this method is economic and efficient for digital archives of those printing artifacts.
