資訊管理研究中實證和詮釋兩種研究取徑的結合運用

An Illustration of the Combination of Positive with Interpretive Approach in Information System Researches

摘要

資訊管理研究中素來以實證的研究取徑為主，近來採取詮釋研究取徑者已漸多。在科學哲學中，實證主義旨在歸納研究的現象以達成穩定的預測或解釋，所持的是單一世界觀的立場；而詮釋主義則在於覺察不同情境特色以獲得多方理解，強調的是多元的世界觀，這兩種本體論立場本是不可共量的(incommensurable)；但也有些研究強調結合運用兩種研究取徑以深入探究問題。Trauth與Jessup即對同一份資料同時採取了實證和詮釋兩種研究取徑，藉由綜合運用不同的研究取徑，以儘可能窺得研究問題的全貌。研究者認為這是相當值得觀摩的作法，因此從方法論上提出結合的模式，並評論該文，期能提供資訊管理研究之參考。

In philosophy of science, positivism posits a one-world view, while interpretivism emphasizes multi-world view. The above two ontology perspectives are incommensurable. Researches in information systems mainly employ positive approaches, then the interpretive approaches. However, some researches appeal to combine the above two approaches. Among the famous examples, Trauth and Jessup adopt both positive and interpretive approach to analyse the same data. Through this combination, they holistically understand the phenomena as possible. We demonstrate the combination of positive and interpretive approach through proposing a combination framework and evaluate this study from the methodology as well.
