古蹟因臺灣社會在經濟發展之下，而面臨消失之困境，臺北市因其首都身分首當其衝。回顧歷來古蹟保存運動中，應對每個歷程加以理解以瞭解其形成背景，強調古蹟保存在時間序列下變遷過程的意義，而不是以今日較為進步的古蹟保存觀念而對昔日的缺失加以批評。

從臺灣古蹟保存運動的歷史脈絡為結構，做為本論文主要分析架構，以國際古蹟保存運動發展概況為輔；檢視歷年來古蹟指定的數量、類別、性質與所有權屬等之變異情形，列舉重大古蹟保存事件、重要演進的分析，以及法令與行政決策的變遷、社會輿論與市民意識的涉入、古蹟保存觀念的改變等討論，進而整理出當前古蹟保存的趨勢。

同時，藉由國內的古蹟保存運動與臺北市古蹟保存政策之重要歷程，做一對照性的比較，以釐清當前臺北市古蹟保存問題之癥結點。進而，從回顧歷史脈絡現象的分析結果，秉持宏觀、反省的角度，將古蹟保存作為論述正文的建構與脈絡的構成，以內視的態度檢討臺北市目前一百處古蹟，同時回歸其與地方環境之涵構關係；企圖嘗試研擬出未來臺北市推動古蹟保存策略之建議。

Abstract

Taipei as the capital of Taiwan, the historic building conservation no otherwise also has to face the huge changing under the economical progressing, and when we viewed all the process of historic building conservation in Taiwan, it is important that we should get more acquaintance about the meaning in the different time and make clear what’s the reason that effect the result of historic building conservation instead of criticism.

In this essay, the processing of historic building conservation of Taiwan, with the order in time, will be the main structure that to discuss the amount, the diversity and the property etc., and also take a glance at the national development, which is with great effectiveness, in order to analysis the rules, the policy, the civil consciousness that depth in this issue, with the discussion we may try to map out the trend and the configuration of historic building conservation in this few years.

Besides, we also highlight on the famous events that happened in other cities, in order to make concern of the limitation and conflict of historic building conservation between Taipei and other cities, within the contrast, we may go in far to the problem of conservation, and to image what is next and how to reshape to make it perfect.

After I try to view inwardly the one-hundred historic buildings in Taipei, clarify all the problems, and realize the transitions, with all the analysis and explanation, and then I would like to make the suggestion statement that to represent and to improve the historic building conservation policies within this essay with my own little efforts.
