Abstract The main contents of this study is to discuss the concept of the design of cable-stayed bridge and its structural analysis . Using static and dynamic analysis to investigate two real cases in Taiwan. TANGO program is used to build 2D structure model for static portion. With TANGO program, we can prestress cable forces and minimize the bending moment of the girder to a narrow band, we can also obtain axial force ,displacement and shear force of the girder and pylon. The output data is used to justify if the design is reasonable or not. In dynamic portion ,we use SAP2000 nonlinear program to get the lowest natural frequency of bending and torsion of the girder to avoid the coincidence which may induce the collapse of cable-stayed bridges.
