從流行音樂看台灣社會情感轉變─以五月天為例

摘要

音樂是一種承載文化的形式，流行音樂的發展與社會的變遷密不可分。本研究透過五月天的音樂來探討台灣民眾情感上的轉變，從出道時期至2011年，期間共有八張錄音室專輯，使用「歷史分析法」與「文本分析法」以及「深度訪談」的質性研究方法，以了解五月天音樂文本意涵與台灣民眾情感的轉變。
本研究歸納五月天樂團的成長歷程，其階段從地下樂團開始、青澀的學生樂團、年輕世代的代言者、倡導和平與自由的世界、對環境生態的關注以及對台灣社會議題的省思。此外，受訪者認同五月天音樂的情感元素，以前五名最為顯著，分別為追逐夢想與實現自我、愛情、友情、激勵與勵志、夢想與現實落差，其隱喻著台灣民眾普遍歌頌之情感歌曲類型。本研究也發現，五月天的音樂能穿梭時空，讓不同時代的人也喜歡，其原因是五月天的音樂除了闡述出青春夢想，也表達出一種對人生體悟的價值觀。最後，本研究也建議國內應實際落實音樂的藝術教育，從根本做起，增進國人音樂素養，進而促進台灣音樂能夠與國際接軌。

Music can reflect culture of contemporary society. Pop music offers an association within the developing of society. The purpose of the study is to explore the transformation of emotion of Taiwanese through the music group “May Day” from 1995 to 2011. There are total eight studio albums in this period. The study uses the “historical analysis”, “text analysis” and “depth interviews” in order to understand the meaning of music text of the May Day and the transformation of emotion of Taiwan. The study concludes that the growth process of the Mayday. The stage start from underground band, student band, the representative of the younger generation, the advocate for peace and freedom, focus on the environment and the social issues of Taiwan. In addition, the top five most significant results of emotion are achieve the dream, self-actualization, love, friendship, inspiration and the gap between dreams and reality. It means that people praise the type of the song in common in Taiwan. Finally, the study also suggest those Pop music lover should have wider vision to extend the music realm to introduce Pop music of Taiwanese style to worldwide.
